Overview

Auriven Labs is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect as little data as possible — and only what is needed to make our apps work.

Information We Collect

  • Location data — Used only while the app is open to show your position on-screen and to power features like Near Me search. Never transmitted to our servers.
  • Crash reports — Anonymous diagnostic data via Apple’s standard crash reporting, used to fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity.

We do not gather names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information.

What We Don’t Do

  • We do not require account registration.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
  • We do not run advertising or track you across apps or websites.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Pro features operate through Apple’s auto-renewable subscription model. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we never receive or store your payment details. Users manage subscriptions via Apple ID settings, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Device Permissions

  • Calendar — With your permission, the app can add mineral claim expiry dates to your device calendar so you don’t miss a deadline. These events are created in your own calendar and are never sent to us.
  • Notifications — With your permission, the app schedules reminders (such as claim expiry alerts) on your device. These are generated locally and are not sent through our servers.

Third-Party Services

Our apps display maps and data from Apple Maps and the Nova Scotia government’s ArcGIS services. The app may also link to third-party websites you choose to open (such as the Nova Scotia registry or reference pages). These services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we do not control the data they collect.

Data Storage

All data you create in the app — favourites, field notes, points of interest, settings, and cached map data — remains under your control, stored on your device. Auriven Labs does not operate servers storing your personal data. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored information.

iCloud Sync

If you are signed into iCloud, data you create in the app — including favourites, points of interest, watched claims, and assessment work logs — may sync across your devices via Apple’s CloudKit service. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and is not accessible to Auriven Labs. It remains in your iCloud account until you delete it within the app or remove it from your iCloud settings. Your iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
